Tony and I (Rachel) met on eHarmony in 2009. I'm not sure the exact date that we viewed each other's profiles or got to the point at which we could begin communicating, I just know it was probably at the beginning of June. We went on our first date on June 17, 2009. Neither of us had ever been on a date with anyone from eHarmony prior to that date. And, I'm happy to report, we still haven't.

Two years later, on June 17, 2011, I married the man of my dreams, the love of my life. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon and many of our friends and family gathered to witness and celebrate our union. We could not have asked for a better day!
Our wedding party consisted of our closest friends and family. Tony branched out to include his friends; all my bridesmaids were family (that I consider dear friends!). See below for more photos/details.
Tony and I knew prior to getting married that we wanted to start our family "right away." Have you ever heard the joke "How do you make God laugh?" The answer: "Tell Him your plans!" We have learned, through hard work and patience, to accept things in His time. That doesn't mean we have given up! We continue to pursue our dream of having children.
We have been through two cycles of in vitro fertilization. The first, in May/June of 2013, was successful in achieving pregnancy...but ended in miscarriage in July 2013. Although it was a painful experience we will never forget, it did tell us one very important thing -- I can get pregnant! We attempted a second IVF cycle in October 2013, which was unsuccessful. We were able to retrieve eggs, six in fact, but none of them fertilized.
We are in the process of starting our third, and possibly final, attempt at IVF this year (2014). Currently, our goal is to begin in April/May. This blog is a journal of sorts for me (Rachel) with regards to all we deal with in dealing with fertility and roadblocks that creep up along the way. I also use this as an outlet in general terms. I love being able to write here, and hope you enjoy coming along for the ride!
